As if you haven't heard, William and Kate have announced their intention to marry next April. Just a few quick things I've observed about the announcement here.
1) People here are excited because this wedding means an additional bank holiday next year.
2) Public sentiment has been against the "middle class" Kate becoming part of Royal Family for most of their relationship. Public opinion, as it often does here, is already starting to change after a couple weeks favorable press.
Lastly, I am scheduled to be in Egypt next year during the wedding so my apartment will likely be available if any of you crazy kids want to fly over for the wedding. I am a short train ride from London.
